According to the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency, Azerbaijani delegation is attending the UNWTO workshop in Iran
The 40th Plenary Session of the Association of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is held in Hamadan, the Islamic Republic of Iran on November 12-14, 2018. Azerbaijan is represented by Rufat Bagirov, Director of the Baku Tourism Information Center.
Within the framework of the plenary session, an international seminar on “Innovations and technology protection of cultural tourism” was organized jointly with Iran’s “Cultural Heritage, Craft and Tourism Organization”. The international seminar discusses the role of innovation and technology in the development of cultural tourism, enhancement of attractiveness and competitiveness of destinations.
The event provides participants with an opportunity to discuss the annual program for the implementation of their goals and create a favorable environment for cooperation and joint initiatives.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the UN World Tourism Organization since 2001. Baku Tourism Information Center has been accepted as an associate member since 2011.
